Information Visitors Provide
A visitor may enter a name, search term, or other query into a search box. Search queries pass to the third-party provider that powers that tool, and that provider’s policy controls its handling after submission. A visitor may also send a message through a contact channel.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Contact messages can include a name, email address, phone number, and the details a visitor chooses to provide. Messages are kept so a reply can be sent and are not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is legally required or necessary to address a security or abuse issue. Do not send sensitive booking, medical, juvenile, victim, or identity documents through an unsecured message.
Technical Data and Cookies
When a page loads, standard technical information may be collected by the host, analytics tools, advertising partners, or other service providers.
- IP address or an approximate network location.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them.
- The referring page, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may help measure page use, remember a preference, support a search tool, or show advertising. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some features may work differently when they are blocked.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to:
- Keep the pages available and improve performance.
- Send a search query to the appropriate third-party provider.
- Understand which pages and links are useful.
- Find, prevent, and repair technical problems or abuse.
- Measure advertising and show messages that may match a visitor’s interests.
Links to Other Providers
The pages link to the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, county Open Records resources, the jail and court systems, Georgia Department of Corrections, federal locators, news outlets, and third-party research tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and terms apply. The operating organization does not control another provider’s collection, retention, pricing, security, or uptime.
Some advertising partners may use their own tools to measure activity across sites or deliver interest-based ads. Those practices occur on the partners’ systems and are governed by their notices.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold as a stand-alone list. Data may be available to the following parties when needed for the purposes above or required by law:
- Search partners that receive a submitted query.
- Analytics and hosting providers.
- Advertising networks and measurement services.
- Professional service providers that help maintain the pages.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order.
Security Limits
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under the operator’s control. No system connected to the internet can be promised fully secure, and no guarantee is made that a transmission, stored message, or third-party service will be breach-proof.
Visitors Under 18
The pages are intended for adults and are not directed to anyone under 18. Information is not knowingly collected from a minor. If a person under 18 submitted personal data, a parent or guardian may use Contact Us to ask that it be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Choices and Data Rights
Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data held by the operator.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Request deletion of information that no longer needs to be retained.
- Opt out of certain processing or communications.
Some records must be kept for legal, security, dispute, or operational reasons. A third-party provider controls queries sent to its tool, so requests about that data may need to go to the provider directly.
Notice Updates
This Privacy Notice may be revised as the pages, vendors, or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted here, with the effective date updated as needed. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised practices.
